  1. But the ironically titled Pleasant Dreams is actually the Ramones’ state-of-the-union message, an impassioned display of irrepressible optimism and high-amp defiance laced with bitterness over.

  3. Oct 02,  · I love End Of The Century. The only real dud on there to me is Baby, I Love You. High Risk Insurance isn't that great to me either (I love Let's Go though). This was my first Ramones album, got it when it came out (I was 12) and I still love it. I think All The Way, I'm Affected, Let's Go and The Return Of Jackie and Judy are totally underrated.
Sans the amped-up "Let's Go", End of the Century suffers from far too many tricks tossed into the slowed-down mix. From day one, the from-the-streets Ramones were all about keepin' to simple and stoked. Allowing Spector to take over and fuck-up the formula was a losing proposition from the moment the long-in-the-tooth, has-been producer.
